Calling Dr. Opera, Dr. Soap Opera...

It was with a bit of trepidation and no little fear and trembling that I turned my blog over to Billy Ray Barnwell for the previous post. But my uncertain faith was not misplaced and he came through in my time of need.

He did indeed convey the very message I had hoped he would, except for the part about my being one of a set of quadruplets. That is sheer nonsense, and I trust you recognized it as such.

If I could afford the services of a skywriter airplane pilot, THANK YOU, BILLY RAY BARNWELL would be splashed across the sky for all to see.

We returned to our humble abode on Sunday evening, glad that everything was under control and returning to normal with our daughter.

Her hospitalization was not without its bright spots, however, not the least of which was the doctor who saw our daughter daily during her three-day stay. In our particular room he was referred to as “Dr. Hottensexy” and “Dr. Eye Candy” and “Dr. Gorgeous” by various members of our immediate family. As Belle Watling once said to Melanie Wilkes in Gone With the Wind, “it wouldn’t be fitten” to tell you his name or show you his photo, as it might cause a sudden influx of population into a certain city in Alabama. But since I suspect that many of you are drooling as you read this, I will be merciful and let you feast your eyes on the following not-quite-as-handsome substitute:

Every cloud has a silver lining.

  1. Wow....I had to skedaddle over here really fast to gaze at George Clooney.....be still my heart!

But...WHAT?! You found a doctor more heart-throbby than Dr. Ross?? Will wonders never cease?

Glad to hear your daughter is doing well.

  2. Hey Jeanelle...believe me, Dr. Hot-n-Sexy even made my mother blush, although she won't admit it. However, I did see her blushing while I was having to fan myself after the doctor left the room on Friday ;-)

  3. So, that's George Clooney is it? (Yes, I live in a cave on the back side of beyond. I have never before seen this person, nor will I try to set any speed records to do so again.) Dr. Hottensexy would not have to be very much more handsome to beat GC in the yummy department. Of course, Yul Brynner was my idea of a sexy looking
    man. :)

P.S. Glad you're home safely and that DIL is OK.

  6. i'll pray for you daughter's continual recovery...we blessed and blessed with concecrated oil a man {neighbor} who is 89 years old to run in the new york running marathon just yeasterday,,,explanation of my park city visit...the motel was 2 hours closer to my mil's funeral, that is why i originally was cloistered in park city and because it was a time share and free...my wife duplicated by being in a motel right in the location of her mother's cemetary and last resting place...yes it did turn out to be a massocistic event...i could have left, but thought i might find some fun there, but no pretty girls visited me there and i had to scrounge to find old men from croatia to spar with...my wife thought me an idiot, my boy did leave after 4 days but i stayed 7 and almost got left...

  8. Rhymsie, tell me the truth....was your daughter really feeling well enough to send a comment to your blog?

Putz's comments are interesting and entertaining, too.

  9. Thanks, everyone, for your comments.

Putz - Thank you for your prayers for my daughter. I can't imagine an 89-year-old man running in the New York Marathon.

Reamus - Yes, I was pleased and relieved to read what Billy posted. You just never know what he might do.

Jeannelle - Cross my heart and hope to die, that comment was from our daughter! Putz is difficult to follow, partly because his comment had to do with something I had said over at his blog. Being in on only one-half of a conversation can be a bit trying.

  10. Oh catching up here....glad your daughter is well. My oldest daughters neurosurgeon in San Francisco was what she called a "hottie". I admit he was pretty hot. I think that is when my hot flashes started.

  11. Vonda, so what you're saying is if all of us lit just one little candle, the heat from that flame would warm the world, is that it?

Or are you saying that some flames are inherently warmer than others?

We are bombarded daily by abbreviations in everyday life, abbreviations that are never explained, only assumed to be understood by everyone...
