Equal protection under the law 1, Sonia Sotomayor 0

Read this.

And if you can’t get enough of the law or you are a real glutton for punishment, read this. (I’m not recommending that you do, but it is an interesting artifact if you have never seen what a Supreme Court decision looks like.)

  1. I found "this" fascinating. During one phase of my former life, I was the Affirmative Action Officer for the company for which I worked. Compliance with government regulations is never an easy task, but discrimination unfortunately is not always easy to define. I don't know if it's still true (statistically), but I used to hear that Caucausian males were the most discriminated against group in the U.S.

I agree with Pat, this is not an easy issue and my problem is I am not sure why the Court decided the case instead of remanding it to the lower court. There are as many equivications in the majoruty opinion and the dessent to make me wonder why they felt the had to let it stand.

Hope you are well. I am , because I am finally home!
