Quote of the day (Easter Sunday)

St. Paul wrote the words, but click on them and you will hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir* sing them with a little help from Handel:

For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
..............................................................-- I Corinthians 15 : 21-22

* P.S. -- I am not a Mormon or a fan of their doctrines, but I know great music when I hear it. -- RWP

  3. Lady's Life, and to you and yours as well. Through patient use of an online translator, I think I have figured out that you are either Russian or Ukrainian. Христос воскрес!

    Putz, we agree on something!

  4. P.S. - Since we have gotten all international here, I give you the traditional Easter greeting and response in old-style Albanian, the language of my wife's family:

Krishti u ngjall! Vërtetë u ngjall!

  6. Carolina, I enjoy a day when I learn something new, and today I learned from you how to say "Happy Easter" in Dutch! Beautiful field of tulips on your blog, by the way.

I like the one about the seventy virgins that will be awaiting us in heaven if we die in a jihad. You've got to admit, Rhymes, that Joseph Smith had a good idea with that one.

  8. Lovely music...very majestic! And I wish you ~ in English ~ a Happy Easter! It's wonderful to see greetings of the season in other languages!

  9. Leave it to you, Snow, to cut through all the nonsense and get to the really important stuff. But according to an e-mail I received several years ago, it's not seventy virgins but seventy Virginians that await jihadists, whose religious founder's name does begin with an M but doesn't end with ormon.

Theanne (and Baron), and a happy post-Easter to you! It just came to me all in a flash where Palm Harbor is. I must have been thinking of Palm Coast on the Atlantic side of Florida, between St. Augustine and Ormond Beach. My son lived in Clearwater for a time and worked in Largo, and we went to Indian Rocks Beach when we visited them. He later lived in Westchase and worked in Citrus Park, and my wife spent three unforgettable days one time in Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor. I remember passing through your fair non-city on the way to Pappas's restaurant in Tarpon Springs. Such a small world it is!

  10. Hope all is well with you and Mrs. RWP. From my (still) sick bed, I watched The Weather Channel's report of the storms as they moved over your city, and offered a prayer for you.

    Weatherwise, all is well here.

  11. Pat, thank you for your prayers. The storms here passed north of where we live. Alabama got the worst of it; my daughter's family is safe but without power today. Among debris in their yard they found receipts from Tuscaloosa, 75 miles away.

Always true to you, darlin’, in my fashion

We are bombarded daily by abbreviations in everyday life, abbreviations that are never explained, only assumed to be understood by everyone...
