Responsible leaders everywhere agree...

We don’t need any silly two-party political system. All we really need is:

Trust us.

[Note. These three very similar photographs all appeared in yesterday’s edition of the Drudge Report. Although they were used to illustrate three different news stories, I could not miss the subliminal message; it spoke volumes to me. --RWP]

  1. From time to time, all politicians will arrive at that particular gesture. As an Americophile, I am saddened to see two loyal and gifted Democrat patriots being shoved in the same bag as the odious Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with whom they have so little in common.

  2. Y.P., thinking that they and they alone know what is best for the rest of the populace is what they have in common. Democrat patriots currently enjoy a popularity rating of about 30% among the American electorate. In a poll taken this week, 77% of the American public think the economy will not improve in the next 12 months. I know, I know, it is undoubtedly all George W. Bush's fault.

  3. I think it's really the fault of the economic downturn across the western world. In this sense, Mr Obama was given a poisoned chalice.

  4. Y.P., everybody knows that the pellet with the poison's in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true!

Except they broke the chalice from the palace, and now the pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon; the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true.

    Got that?

  5. Well the message for every country is different lol
but we can't trust with so many world imbalances.
    Always pays to be vigilant
The saying goes keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer.

  6. Yorkshire Puddin - Obama was given a poisoned chalice and so was Bush.
Had he done nothing after 9/11 it would have been worse.
Islam had to be exposed because the world is just too naive about who and what they are behind those robes. They are quick to judge but do worse behind closed doors. No one is perfect but at least in an open society we can admit it and work towards a better world.

  7. I see Sarah P is not running...

  8. B.C. Lady, I thought it was Thomas Jefferson who said, "Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty," but no one seems to be able to prove that he ever said it.

Katherine, not only is Sarah Palin not running, but it was reported yesterday that she has changed her political affiliation on her Facebook page from Republican to Conservative.

  9. YP - there was no poisoned chalice. Each president comes into some sort of legacy left from the previous administration. It's what they do from there that matters. Pelosi and Obama appear to be loyal to one thing - their own agenda. From my perspective, they appear to listen to the concerns of their constituents (some of whom actually voted them into office). Instead (as RWP said), they think they alone know what is best for the rest of us. Oh, and by the way, they don't have a problem telling us that on a regular basis.

  10. Correction:
YP - there was no poisoned chalice. Each president comes into some sort of legacy left from the previous administration. It's what they do from there that matters. Pelosi and Obama appear to be loyal to one thing - their own agenda. From my perspective, they appear to RARELY/NEVER listen to the concerns of their constituents (some of whom actually voted them into office). Instead (as RWP said), they think they alone know what is best for the rest of us. Oh, and by the way, they don't have a problem telling us that on a regular basis.

  14. Punk Chopsticks, actually, the volumes these three photographs in tandem (wait, can three photographs be in tandem?) spoke to me include the next great American novel, the biography that won the Pulitzer Prize, the life's work that resulted in a Nobel for literature, and, well, thank you for your understanding.

When you say in your profile that you are a converted vegan, do you mean that you converted TO veganism or that you converted FROM veganism? I'm confused.

  15. TO veganism haha (sorry for the mixup) my third grade chinese teacher is a vegetarian and she sort of had a huge impact on my childhood.

I can't say much judging by the malaysian propaganda we're fed (and some of the discreet mass media filtering) but it sure looks like obama bit off a lot

  16. He seems to have bit off more than we can chew. Confucius say, "One man's meat is another man's poison." Actually, it was not Confucius; it was a Roman named Lucretius in the first century B.C. and he said it in Latin: "Quod ali cibus est aliis fuat acre venenum."

  17. To me it just seems like they are all saying: "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

  18. Carolina in Nederland, that certainly puts a new twist on their individual facial expressions!

  19. I'd say that M. Ahmadinejad is clearly lying here, for the memory brings a smile to his face. But hey, I did believe Clinton when he tried to convince us, so I'm not the best judge of facial expressions ;-)
