For your listening pleasure during the holidays

...we recommend Darlene and Jonathan Edwards (Jo Stafford and Paul Weston). If you have not heard them previously, you simply MUST acquaint yourself with their unique talents. If you have heard them previously, you will certainly agree that their performances are always show-stopping, er, jaw-dropping, er, unforgettable.

Here they are with “The Last Time I Saw Paris” (2:48).

And “By the Light of the Silvery Moon” (1:57).

And “Tiptoe Through the Tulips” (2:19).

And “It's Magic” (2:42).

And “I Am Woman” (2:47).

I just know you are going to enjoy them every bit as much as I do.

  3. Not my cup of tea. I think this "musical" couple need to practise more or better still find a different form of employment.

  4. How lovely to know that there are still fans of Jonathan and Darlene out there. They've always been favorites of ours. It takes an incredible amount of talent to be able to do what they did.

Yorkshire Pudding, the Edwardses have many, many fans out there who really know what good music is.

Sissy, how nice to hear from East Tennessee again after such a long absence.

Mary Z, lovers of good music will always want to hear Jonathan and Darlene.

  7. Made my ears wince. Like listening to the taste of hedgehogs with a side order of lemon peel.

  8. Katherine, I have neither listened to nor tasted hedgehogs, with or without a side order of lemon peel. Do they taste like chicken? (the hedgehogs, I mean, not the lemon peel. I know what lemon peel tastes like).

  9. I'm running behind with my blog comments. Sorry.

I love Jonathan and Darlene! I once took my album of 'Jonathan and Darlene in Paris' to the beauty shop (they had a stereo with a turntable) and convinced the owners and patrons that the recording was of my sister and brother-in-law. Everyone declared they were "simply wonderful," while I went into near hysterics over their kind lies.

What memories you've brought back with this post. Thanks!
