Oh, be careful, little ears, what you hear

Blogger tells me I have 1260 posts and 126 followers. My quickly-disappearing mathematics skills are still intact enough to be able to determine that this blog has -- let’s see, divide by 5, carry the 7 -- one follower for every ten posts.

I think the time has come for you to do some of the heavy lifting. Out of all 1260 posts at rhymeswithplague, tell me which 10 you would like to have associated with your own exalted self. I know, I know, this assignment will require you to do quite a bit of reading over the next few days, but my faith in you is complete.

And no fair picking the last 10 posts.

This should separate the sheep from the goats.

No, no, Blogger, I said “separate the sheep from the goats.”

Still not right.

Readers, Blogger is having a problem with her hearing, so I don’t think I would be able to trust anything she tells me about your choices.

I'm just going to have to cancel the assignment.

  1. I like all the ones that mention me. Have you done ten of those yet? *drums her fingers slowly.....

126 followers. Blimey. I repeat, blimey. I have hmm, twenty I think, and I don't hear from around fifteen of them, in fact, I pretty sure a few just pressed follow as they found me mildly amusing for a cuple of posts and have since disappeared into the ether leaving me with some false impresion of popularity hahahaha. Not as popular as you mind m'lud. *curtsies.

  2. That is an incredible number of posts. And I think I would rather be a cat than a sheep OR a goat.

  4. Thank heavens you have cancelled the assignment! I would have had to devote most of this week to reading back through The Brague Online Library of Wisdom, Humour and Common Sense (Sponsored by Kentucky Fried Chicken). Regarding readers and hits etc., surely it is quality and not quantity that matters. After all you have mesmerised me (and Carol and Putz) and this should fill you with the warm glow that great personal achievement generates.

  5. Because of where this little place Cairns is on The world map, I seem to be the first to visit and comment ~ that's because we are just ahead of you all ~ so I wait a whole day and still no one has commented. Has there been an apocalypse and Cairns is the only place left on Earth? Does the world think RWP has gone right mad with his last post?

Be careful little eyes, what you read. Maybe you could recommend your top 10 to read RWP? The 10 which are the funniest, most popular, your personal favorites??

  6. Whew, that was close! I was going to say, "the dog ate my homework" or something because I don't have time to sit around on the computer and read through ALL THAT STUFF! Anyhow, I was still humming "Oh be careful little ears what you hear". I'll get one of my girls to play the piano and we can all sit around and sing! I LOVE to sing! Pass out the hymnals and we'll have a great time! When they get tired, you can take a turn playing Mr. RWP!!!

  12. GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM!, er, I mean RHYMESWITHPLAGUELAND!

I have been (and still am) unavoidably detained away from access to a computer (no, I am not in jail) and just figured out how to publish your comments from my iPhone (yes, Virginia, I have an iPhone).

    Details in my next post.

  13. And here I thought maybe you were resting on your laurels after reaching such a significant milestone.

  14. Ruth H. Chatlien, I'm a little dense today. What milestone? Do you mean my sixth anniversary of blogging? But I didn't tell my readers that until the next post.

Oh, wait, I get it. Ten followers per post, that milestone. It seems I will never have any laurels upon which to rest.
