Five minutes, thirty-four seconds of gorgeous

There’s a group called The Piano Guys that normally consists of four guys who play the piano. Sometimes, though, the make-up of the group apparently changes.

For your listening pleasure and edification, here is one of the guys on piano and one of the guys on cello -- I don’t know where the other two guys are -- playing “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” (5:34).

This one you may definitely want to listen to more than once. It’s that good.

  1. Thank you dear Santa for reminding me of one of my favourite carols. The music oozes longing and a certain desperation. I used to sing it back in the day when I was a choirboy....

    O come, O come, Emmanuel,
    and ransom captive Israel,
that mourns in lonely exile here
until the Son of God appear.
    Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel,
shall come to thee o Israel!

  2. Sublime. That was the best musical experience I've had for a long time.
It's a tricky one to sing 'tho'. Especially when you're 11 and have just joined the church choir.

  3. Beautiful!

See if this link works. It's their version of "Angels We Have Heard on High" and you'll see guys playing a piano in a way you probably never have before!

  4. That was far more beautiful than I expected. I love piano and strings. A fine piece indeed.
