As Oscar Hammerstein II said back in 1945...

It might as well be spring.

Of course, it is spring in the Southern Hemisphere now (waves to Sue, Helsie, Carol, and Katherine) but here in the good old hémisphère nord it is definitely l’automne. Autumn. Fall. Clear blue skies. Cool days and even cooler nights.

But you would never know it by looking at our yard. I took this photograph yesterday afternoon with my cell phone:

Our front yard is adorned with several Encore Azaleas -- they bloom in both spring and fall, hence “encore” -- and a lovely Sasanqua Camellia bush that bursts forth faithfully every October.

The pot of yellow chrysanthemums on the wrought-iron table in the entranceway? That was my own addition.

Chez Brague is looking very nice. You have a cell phone? In your cell I presume. While Madam Brague sleeps in the main house, I guess that you have a cell in the yard. What did you do wrong?

The flowers are lovely and the interplay of sun and shadow a real treat. Right now, I'm looking out at that same sun and at similar shadows. Often, I'll often be watching a Western in which every character is now dead, and there will be sun and shadow, and I'll remember that the writer of Ecclesiastes stood under that same sun, and that like the men on the Westerns, he too is dead. The sun continues, but all else passes.

Looking good. Looking very good.
Here, the calendar says it is spring, but our temperatures say it is summer. Except when winter pokes her face back in again.

Lovely home! And I'm very jealous of your cool days and cooler nights. I've pretty much had my fill of temps in the 90s... Thanks for a glimpse!

Thanks to all for commenting and for your compliments!

P.S. to YP - Cell phone is U.S. for mobile phone. I live inside the house.

P.S. to Snowbrush - Even the sun will pass. It is after all just a star. But three of the gospel writers report Jesus saying, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." Here endeth the lesson for today.

On behalf of The Bob Brague International Fan Club, I have been instructed to urge our idol to blog again before October is over. A full two weeks have passed since this blogpost was created and the fans are now, rather understandaby, getting restless. Outside my office window, hundreds are gathering, all chanting "We Want Bob!"

There have also been unsubstantiated reports of suicidal window jumpers. I think he does this simply to torment us.
