...it may as well be with beautiful people.

These people, who are beautiful inside and out, are my younger son and his wife with their two sons, aged 21 and 19, on a last outing of summer before the younger set return to their respective universities. One almost expects Gatsby to appear over the dunes.

Hello, world! This blog began on September 28, 2007, and so far nobody has come looking for me
with tar and feathers.
On my honor, I will do my best not to bore you. All comments are welcome
as long as your discourse is civil and your language is not blue.
Happy reading, and come back often!
And whether my cup is half full or half empty, fill my cup, Lord.

Post-election thoughts
Here are some mangled aphorisms I have stumbled upon over the years: 1. If you can keep your head when all anout you are losing thei...
I love the sea but dislike beaches. Horrible gritty places. I'm happy that the company went someway to ameliorating your discomfort.
ReplyDeleteYou can see that your son didn't fall far from the tree in terms of his likeness to his dad!
ReplyDeleteThat lovely family seems to be coping quite well with being forced to be there. My condolences to all.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful people. Hiding their suffering well. Does stoicism run in the family?
ReplyDeleteTo one and all, except maybe Ian, who is very observant, I can respond in no better fashion than in one of All Consuming's favorite ways, namely: hahahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteWere you and Ellie there too? I wonder what style of bathing costume you were wearing. I imagine red and white horizontal stripes and a full body suit concealing the manly RWP torso.
ReplyDeleteFunny how times change. Your grandsons away at university and your son and daughter-in-law left rattling around in the family home. They all look healthy and happy. Lovely pictures.
Y.Pudding, Mrs. RWP and I stayed at home to guard the valuables and fend off intruders and clean out the stables, I mean feed Sharpie, the black Lab. I pictured the people being forced to spend a day at the beach with beautiful people as you, the readers of this blog. But you pretty much nailed it in the bathing costume department, except that mine reveals rather than conceals the manly torso, if I do say so myself. *flexes for the camera and adoring crowd*
ReplyDeleteA Florida beach is something I'm never likely to experience but if I were to then I'd certainly need such a delightful diversion.
ReplyDeleteGraham, A beach is just water and sand anywhere you go, but people offer infinite variety. I just made that up, so it probably is not true.
ReplyDeleteI could not disagree with you about the infinite variety of people. I agree that, essentially, a beach is water and sand but, and it's a huge but, what is on the sand and in the sand; what the texture of the sand is and what it is made of; and, of great importance the character of the beach's surrounding countryside (or townscape) is what really make a beach for me.
