India is a country with more than a billion people. Here is an example of what is called “spending a quiet afternoon alone” in India:
Reuters reports that on Sunday, December 23, 2012, in an attempt to stamp out protests that have swelled in New Delhi since the gang-rape of a young woman, the Indian government banned gatherings of more than five people.
Here's the Reuters article.
It is unclear whether their intent was to stamp out gang-rapes (in which case it might work) or to stamp out protests against gang-rapes (in which case it probably won’t work), but given the size of India’s population it has to be one of the most ridiculous moves any government has ever made.
Oh, I nearly forgot. Merry Christmas.
Hello, world! This blog began on September 28, 2007, and so far nobody has come looking for me with tar and feathers.
On my honor, I will do my best not to bore you. All comments are welcome
as long as your discourse is civil and your language is not blue.
Happy reading, and come back often!
And whether my cup is half full or half empty, fill my cup, Lord.
