...and I’m not talking about the recent career antics of Miley Cyrus.
I made a mistake in yesterday’s post.
Yes, I did.
I realize that you probably find that very hard to believe and it is indeed a very rare occurrence, one that usually coincides with the return of Halley’s Comet, but stay with me for a minute. In yesterday’s post I stated that I have a lipoma in my ilium.
That is not correct.
Not by a long shot.
Hear me out.
I do not have a lipoma in my ilium. No, indeedy.
I have a lipoma in my ileum.
Big difference.
The ilium is a bone in the pelvis. This is the ilium:

A horrible mistake has been made
...and you can read more about it here.
The ileum, on the other hand, is the final section of the small intestine. This is the ileum:
...and you can read more about it here.
The ileum can be examined through an endoscopy or a colonoscopy or an enteroscopy. The ilium most assuredly cannot.
At least not yet.
A thousand pardons.
Yours for accuracy in media,
J.T.F. Rhymeswithplague, Esq.
[Editor’s note. J.T.F. stands for Just The Facts, as in “Just the facts, ma’am,” a phrase that was never uttered by Jack Webb on Dragnet but which was uttered by Stan Freberg in 1953 on the parody recording St. George and the Dragonet which is available here for your listening pleasure, especially if you are from one of the British Commonwealth of Nations countries. --RWP]

Here are some mangled aphorisms I have stumbled upon over the years: 1. If you can keep your head when all anout you are losing thei...
Well of course I noticed. I've had lots of my ileum removed and had it been my ilium I'd not be riding a bike I can tell you. However, I took it as an obvious mistake and knew in time you'd beg forgiveness, which is graciously received. *grins.
ReplyDeleteLike All Consuming I knew that you had made an error. My partner has now had two ileostomies so we are more familiar than we like with ileums.
ReplyDeleteUnlike you, I make lots of mistakes so like seeing others fall from grace occasionally. I thought you had done it (much like the hostess spilling wine) to make your visitors feel better about themselves.
Clearly my previous comment -referring to nipples and an octopus - has been rejected by the Mayor of Cherokee County. I apologise for any offence caused. May I assure you that this was unintentional. Fond regards - Y.Pudding (Mr)
ReplyDelete"my previous comment -referring to nipples and an octopus" - HAHAHAHAHA. That's quite priceless and just vague enough to sound incredibly weird.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference a single letter makes, eh?
ReplyDeleteI think they laser those don't they?
ReplyDeleteMy friend,
ReplyDeleteAn easy mistake to make. As for Miley, just a mistake by the dude with the achey brakey heart...
Amazing... I learn something even when you make mistakes. Today I'm praising God for your good health, and for educational follow-ups!
