I can’t remember whether I have shown these photographs to you before, but if I have, I’m about to show them to you again.

Hello, world! This blog began on September 28, 2007, and so far nobody has come looking for me
with tar and feathers.
On my honor, I will do my best not to bore you. All comments are welcome
as long as your discourse is civil and your language is not blue.
Happy reading, and come back often!
And whether my cup is half full or half empty, fill my cup, Lord.

Remembrance of things past (show-biz edition) and a few petty gripes
Some performing groups came in twos (the Everly Brothers, the Smothers Brothers, Les Paul & Mary Ford, Steve Lawrence and Edyie Gormé, ...
Wow what marvellous pictures! Time, there it is across the screen indeed. The family resemblances are very strong, they're a fine looking bunch all round. I already know how proud you are, and heartily applaud that motion. I love seeing my blogger friends photographs. *smiles*.
ReplyDeleteWhat absolutely lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you both, Michelle and Carol, for your kind words from opposite sides of the world.
ReplyDeleteAll Consuming and Carol are both right. Truly lovely photos, and the family resemblance (and the happiness) are very evident.
ReplyDeleteGrand photographs and aren't the shirts doing well. I wish I could get mine to last ten years.
ReplyDeleteSuch great photos ... smiles across time ... in my family there would be at least one set of bunny-ear fingers!
ReplyDeleteYou are a lucky man to have such a family. I notice that your two pictured grandsons have writing on their tops - "La Grange" and "River Ridge". Perhaps you should follow their fashion sense and get yourself your own top with writing emblazoned across it. May I suggest "Cherokee" after your county or "Rolling Rock" after a well-known American beer or "Organist" to announce your musical talent. You would look even more cool.
ReplyDeleteMore thanks to everyone for the lovely comments. If you can stand it and indulge me just a bit more, I want to have a post soon showing the rest of my grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteAdrian, I didn't understand your comment about the shirts at first until I realized I had made a boo-boo in the caption. The photo of all five of us should have said July 2010, not July 2000 -- a thousand pardons! (I made the correction.) The photo in the post and the photo in the sidebar were taken on the same day, actually, Mrs. RWP's birthday that year. Now your comment ("Aren't the shirts doing well") makes me giggle.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
