Sad news

Our friend Tom B. -- James Thomas Brown -- expired this afternoon due to coronavirus COVID-19 after spending 25 days in hospital and 21 on a ventilator. I believe he is the sixth resident of Cherokee County to succumb to this disease. He was 69 and is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Cheryl; two daughters, Staci Brown and Mandy Brown Holcombe; two sons, Matthew Brown and Clinton Brown; and several grandchildren.

RIP, Tom Brown.

  2. I'm so sorry, RWP. Strange and uncertain times we're living in. At times we've been suspicious (government plot, biological warfare, nonsense, etc.) but when we hear of real people suffering and dying, it's definitely worth our stay-at-home efforts. My heart goes out to all who knew/loved him. Glad to hear you and the Mrs are well - please stay that way! We're working ourselves to a frazzle trying to make our new homestead...and now that we finally live close to family & grandbabies.....we're all alone. Life's funny. Sort of.

My sympathies to you. I'm assuming you won't be able to attend a funeral but I'm sure you will do something in remembrance and that is what matters

  6. I knew as soon as I saw the heading. It brings it home to us when someone we actually know, however remote the connection, succumbs. I keep looking at Blogland and wondering who is missing. So far no one as far as I can tell. Long may it remain that way.
