Round and round she goes

Tonight we (Mrs. RWP and I) watched Jeopardy! for the first time in several monhs and the crickets (no buzz-ins from the three contestants but I knew the answers) were out in abundance on the following:

Who is Richard Nixon?
Who is Robert Louis Stevenson?
What is live oak?

The clues were (1) he appointed William Rehnquist to the United States Supreme Court, (2) his poem "Requiem" included the line 'home is the sailor, home from the sea', and (3) a photograph of a tree in a category entitled "L.O."

We also watched an episode of Finding Your Roots, another program we hadn't watched in several months.

Either we have regressed or everything that goes around comes around.

We have two more graduates in the family as of last week. One of our grandsons received his Bachelor's degree and another grandson received his Master's degree. We have no buttons left.

  2. All six of our grandchildren have earned their Bachelor’s degrees and three have gone on to receive Master’s degrees as well. Fiveof the six are married and all five spouses have Bachelor’s degrees too. My mother, who had taught schoolchildren, would be over the moon. Thank you, Janice.

  5. Hi R.P, congratulations to the graduate and others getting so well educated. Now wondering what schools. It's been quite a while since, if ever I've visited you here. I stopped blogging mid year 2024.when I had a right knee joint replacement. I've revived my poetry blog a couple of weeks ago. I was reading just now and ran across your comment on my old "Ask Dr Jim" blog. So here I am checking to see if you still blog. Glad you are. I plan to make an entry on it soon, 2023 was the last.
    Cheers, . . .

    1. Welcome back to Blogland, Dr. Jim! I am 84 now and still blogging, yes indeed, although my annual output is less than half what it was a few years back. I started in September 2007. I can feature myself stopping if something went wrong with my hands and I had difficulty typing on the keyboard, but I don’t really understand how your knee replacement affected your blogging. Mrs. RWP had both knees replaced 18 years ago and she doesn’t blog either so maybe there is some kind of cause-and-effect going on after all, who knows? I never include names or locations in my blog when it comes to our children and grandchildren, but all their degrees were obtained in the lower 48 contiguous states. Thank you, Dr. Jim, and again, welcome back!
