Happy birthday, Jerry Ragsdale, wherever you are...
Hello, world! This blog began on September 28, 2007, and so far nobody has come looking for me
with tar and feathers.
On my honor, I will do my best not to bore you. All comments are welcome
as long as your discourse is civil and your language is not blue.
Happy reading, and come back often!
And whether my cup is half full or half empty, fill my cup, Lord.

Remembrance of things past (show-biz edition) and a few petty gripes
Some performing groups came in twos (the Everly Brothers, the Smothers Brothers, Les Paul & Mary Ford, Steve Lawrence and Edyie Gormé, ...
I found 38 Jerry Ragsdales on White Pages (is there a collective noun for Ragsdales?) and six of them were in Georgis, but I can't say I'm any wiser.
ReplyDeleteThe one I meant was someone with whom I worked for about 15 years. He retired in 1995 or 1996, and he's probably still where he always was (Conyers, Georgia) but we have not kept in contact.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that you found 38 of them and six in Georgia.
The plural of Ragsdales would be Ragsdalesim, as in cherub/cherubim, seraph/seraphim, and so forth.
Wasn't he the banker in "The Beverly Hillbillies"?
ReplyDeleteSnow,, you're thinking of Mr. Drysdale (and, I'm sure, his lovely assistant, Miss Hathaway)....
ReplyDeleteThere is a Jerry M Ragsdale in Conyers. Is his wife called Lillian?
ReplyDeleteI don't think my Jerry M. Ragsdale is married. Lillian may be his mother; it's an old-fashioned name.
ReplyDeleteI can think of a couple of Lillian's who might take offence at being considered 'old-fashioned', although you're right.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, all I did was a Google search that led me to this Jerry Ragsdale on whitepages.com which gave an address and phone number that I won't repeat here, buit why not give him a call?
