What does one give on a diamond anniversary?
Why, diamonds, of course!
Ellie was both surprised and pleased.
Yes, I guess I'm tooting my own horn.
One gets the chance so seldom.
I do remember something my mother used to say, though.
"Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back."
But I am truly glad that my gift made Ellie happy.
Hello, world! This blog began on September 28, 2007, and so far nobody has come looking for me with tar and feathers.
On my honor, I will do my best not to bore you. All comments are welcome
as long as your discourse is civil and your language is not blue.
Happy reading, and come back often!
And whether my cup is half full or half empty, fill my cup, Lord.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
Just what you've been waiting for, a weather report from north Georgia. Yesterday our specific part of north Georgia experienced...
It's a very lovely ring, you can pat yourself on the back for giving it.
ReplyDeleteSo many congratulations on reaching 60 years. It's a long time with a lot of thick and thin
Thank you, kylie, for your kind words. Thick and thin, ups and downs, highs and lows, life can certainly seem like a roller-coaster ride at times. Over the long haul, though, every valley is exalted and every mountain and hill is made low. Our job is to keep plodding along, step by step, and enjoy the journey.
DeleteMany Congratulations. A beautiful sentiment and a beautiful ring. You can now update your 'About Me' with pride. I think you're about the only person who does update their details.
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting, Graham. I must be slipping. Both our number of years married AND my own age needed to be updated! Thanks for reminding me.
DeleteThe ring is beautiful. It is a wonderful expression of your love. I wish you both happiness for your special day.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Emma. We have never given each other gifts on our anniversaries through the years, just a pretty card and then going out to dinnerr. So Ellie was completely surprised, I think. I hve a very long learning curve.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you both.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sue, and welcome back to my blog's comment section after a long absence. So good to see you here once again!
DeleteHappy anniversary. The numbers are getting big. I wish you continued good health.
ReplyDeleteBigger than I ever dreamed they would be. Thanks for commenting, Red.
