As the young folks say, WTF??

For some strange reason unknown to me, for the last few days I have not been able to enter comments on my own blog or anyone else's from my iPhone. I can still enter them from my trusty desktop computer, but I can't carry that thing around with me everywhere I go. Not even some places. No way, José.

So there may be a slight delay in my responses to you until the Apple gremlins get themselves sorted out.

I can still compose posts on my iPhone, I just can't make comments.

Another one of Mama's sayings comes to mind: It'll all come out in the wash.

Unless it doesn't, of course.

I hope in this case that Mama was right.

My dad had a word for it -- an acronym, really -- that he learned in the Navy. Without translation, I now share it with you.

SNAFU

    1. Adrian, why an apple? Oh, maybe because the iPhone is an Apple? Sometimes I am dense (or more accurately, more dense than at other times).

  2. I have been reading about this problem quite a bit lately. I do not have an iPhone so I have no solution for you.

  3. I suspect it is a blogger rather than an Apple glitch. Blogger doesn't play nicely at the moment.

    1. Sue, Blogger seems to get meaner all the time. I think Google has something to do with it.

  4. I also have experienced this recently. It was very frustrating while it lasted. In my case it was because there seemed to be a problem with using Safari. I have changed to Chrome and the problem has disappeared.
I am glad you're ok. I noticed no answers to your loyal readers' amazing comments, and in the light of your post was getting worried something else serious had befallen you.

    1. Kate, Yes, ok, but derelict in my comment-answering duties. Actually I did answer the commenters on the preceding post all in one fell swoop at the bottom of the list instead of answering each comment individually. And it was on the same day you posted your comment here (October 4) about my lack of answers, although with the international date line and all you may have posted this one before I posted that one.

  5. Using my phone (android) for commenting is a mine field. Either I can't access the comment box or when I can comment & then hit the publish button, anything between one and three commemts might appear. Grrrrrrr!
    Let's see what happens today.

    1. Hey, Alphie Soup! I don't hear from you often, so welcome again or back or something. Here's hoping the Apple gremlins or iPhone imps will all sort themselves out soon and we lowly users can get back to normal.

    1. Kate, here I am! I just have to be at the desktop computer and not the iPhone in order to answer, and we have had to do a lot of running around lately, which keeps me from the keyboard. A thousand apologies.

  7. Problems or no, Mr RWP, WTF is NOT a nice thing to say! Tell Ellie that you need your mouth washed out with soap and you should probably stand in a corner for good measure. Tsk. Tsk.

    1. Pam and Graham, but I just used the letters, W, and T, and F, I didn't say the word! Maybe the soap could be a little pleasnt-tasting? SNAFU can be cleaned up by substituting the word 'fouled'... and WTF could mean a number of things:

      Where's The Fudge?
      Who Told Francine?
      When Turkeys Fly
      While Tempers Flare
      Wilbur Teased Fiona

      and the like.

Nevertheless, I repent in sackcloth and ashes.

  8. Recently I, too, tried to comment with my iPhone and couldn't be bothered with the signing in etc. I think it's to do with the recent changes Blogger has made to commenting. Chrome automatically signs you in now (so that Google can keep even more tabs on you). Chrome and Blogger being owned by Google is making more and more one reliant on the other for the user.

    1. Graham, I have mostly stopped using Chrome and Google altogether. I now prefer using Mozilla Firefox, not least because its search engine is called 'Duck Duck Go' and they keep no record (so they say) of what you have searched for.

  9. In my latest post I've explained why this was happening to myself and Philip, so do pop over folks and have a read if you want to try that.

WTF? - Only letters, perfectly reasonable, Fiona and wally, Fudge and wombles etc, well done that man! *beams*
