Hello, world! This blog began on September 28, 2007, and so far nobody has come looking for me
with tar and feathers.
On my honor, I will do my best not to bore you. All comments are welcome
as long as your discourse is civil and your language is not blue.
Happy reading, and come back often!
And whether my cup is half full or half empty, fill my cup, Lord.

Brace yourself!
The old guy with the crazy hair still has it, in more ways than one. If you look closely you will see shamrocks, lots and lots of shamrocks!
You might even say that the song (in this case, St. Patrick’s Day) is ended, but the malady lingers on.
As of yesterday I have been living on planet Earth for 78 years, which only goes to prove that there’s no fool like an old fool.

Here are some mangled aphorisms I have stumbled upon over the years: 1. If you can keep your head when all anout you are losing thei...
Belated Happy Birthday. Love the suspenders.
ReplyDeleteEmma, thank you!
DeleteBelated Birthday Greetings Bob!
ReplyDeleteI kept clicking on your picture, expecting that your image would do an Irish dance but no matter how many times I clicked, you obstinately refused to dance for your adoring public.
Yorkshire Pudding, thank you! You are correct. When you click on my picture, my picture doesn't do an Irish dance, but the real me here in Canton, Georgia, does.
DeleteWell happy birthday. I hope you had a great day.
ReplyDeleteRed, thank you! It was one of my best birthdays ever. All three of my children texted me greetings and one of my older grandchildren telephoned me from North Carolina. In the evening our second son had us over for one of his home-cooked meals (chicken parmesan, linguini with homemade sauce, steamed broccoli) and our daughter-in-law presented us with a chocolate ganache cake afterward. Even the weather cooperated; it was bright and sunny. Some years have been downright miserable in mid-March.
DeleteAn Irish Birthday Blessing: May you live a long life full of gladness and health, with a pocket full of gold as the least of your wealth. May the dreams you hold dearest, be those which come true, the kindness you spread, keep returning to you.
ReplyDeleteLove the suspenders and the character wearing them! Happiest of Birthdays to you, my friend...and may our good Lord bless you richly!
Thank you, Hilltophomesteader! What a lovely Irish Birthday Blessing. I received them from a friend at church gave me the suspenders on Sunday morning and yes, they were still in the package.
DeleteYou're not doing too badly for an old fella😊😊
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy birthday, Robert
kylie, thank you twice!
DeleteIf I'm honest I see nothing there which proves the assertion you make that there is no fool like and old fool.
ReplyDeleteGraham, you are very kind.
DeleteI always enjoy it when you post a photo of yourself, your missus, and also of your dog. Such things give a homey touch to your blog.
